Position Description:
· Vehicle NVH is a key technical department within the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer.
· Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics, ensuring the many aspects of refinement required to achieve the customer expectations for all client programmes.
· It is all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.
· The NVH Attributes Refinement Group encompasses 3 distinct teams; Prevention, Delivery and In-service Performance.
· It’s responsible for strategy, methods, targets, testing, detection and resolution, specifically for the attributes of Squeak & Rattle and Water and Air Ingress across the full vehicle, systems and components.
· Operating from the very early phase of a vehicle programme, working cross functionally throughout design, development, manufacturing, launch until end of product life cycle.
· Your will play a pivotal role within the In-service Performance team to enhance the customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles free from abnormal noise (Squeak & Rattle) and water leaks.
· Your primary role will be to gather facts to make a clear problem definition, then to employee strong negotiation skills to drive problem resolution using 8D and other quality tools.
· The Performance team is responsible for issue resolutions that can arise internally through Manufacturing, Fleet users, Durability and Robustness vehicles and externally through warranty and IQS surveys.
Skills Required:
· Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience preferred
· Ability to Plan work/Events and organise detailed activity to deliver the outcomes
· Demonstrable problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
Experience Required:
· Automotive/Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience preferred
· Demonstrate potential to strategies work streams based on the Business Plan
· Ability to Plan work/Events and organise detailed activity to deliver the outcomes
· Ability to lead large project/ resolve complex issues through leading cross functional teams
· Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision
· Demonstrable problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
· Good experience of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc) Ability to analyse large data that translates into next actions
· Ability to plan work in 2 weeks sprints, organise work based on priority and deliver against plan
· Being resourceful with Hands on complex problem solving capability Highly motivated, fast learner and ability to easily handle multiple tasks
· Ability to learn quickly new skills quickly (Have a Growth Mind-set)
· Demonstrate good negotiation skills to promote issues to next phase of investigation
· A proactive and personable nature to engage with cross functional areas.
· Microsoft package elements such Power Point and Excel to an intermediate level
· Knowledge and understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
· Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
· A full UK driving licence
Experience Required:
· Automotive Engineering Degree/ Mechanical Engineering Previous experience of New Model Launch or Vehicle Manufacturing operations
· Technical knowledge of vehicle engineering related to Squeaks & Rattle or Water Ingress
· Drive and motivation to achieve goals of team and self with minimal supervision
· Active experience of working to Agile methodologies (JIRA)
· Experience of working with the following company toolsets; Tableau, AIMs, IQM, Flags, IDS, TGW
· A working knowledge of Trim & Final, BIW, sealing systems
· A working experience of CAD or Digi-buck.
· Knowledge of material compatibility and joining technologies.
· Working knowledge of Health and Safety/ risk assessments
