Position Description:
Reporting to Workshop Supervisor
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the engineering team in the test, development, and validation of systems and components, reporting to the workshop supervisor.
Support the engineering team in building and commissioning of systems, reporting to the workshop supervisor as required.
Travel to support and maintain applications in the field as needed by the business, ensuring proper functioning and addressing any issues that arise.
Develop and maintain test rigs for various testing activities, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards.
Work from verbal directions, written instructions, 3D CAD models, and detailed drawings to assemble and test components against certification conformities and industry standards.
Conduct fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Collaborate with the engineering team to verify system performance and assess the quality of supplier hardware.
Write detailed test reports to document findings, test conditions, and any deviations from expected results.
Liaise Project Lead or Chief Engineer as required for the project, providing technical support and updates on testing progress.
Provide on-site support at the company and Development Centre, as well as at nominated test facilities or customer sites. This will require flexible working practices, including occasional travel and working abroad.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality & Environmental policies affecting the work area and off site undertakings.
YOUR PROFILE
Preferably 10-15 years of practical, hands-on workshop experience on mechanical or electrical engineering
Proactive professional individual with the ability to work effectively alone as well as part of a team
Interpret and understand P&ID’s.
Swagelok H2 Installation and tubing bending would be an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and record maintenance
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of diesel or gasoline engines preferred but not mandatory.
Level 3 Marine Engineering or similar qualification
